The Chinese company has already sent invitations for an important event scheduled to take place on the 26th of August 2014. During the event Xiaomi will launch in an official manner its new Redmi 1S smart phone on the Indian territories.
The phone was first presented in China in the month of May. It has a dual SIM, a screen equal to 4.7 inch and a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The display is of the IPS-LCD type and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It pixel density is equal to 312 ppi. The telephone is an Android based one, functioning on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The phone has a quad core Snapdragon 400 SoC processor which has a power of 1.6 gigahertz. This processor teams up with a random access memory of one gigabyte and Andreno 305 GPU. The storage equals eight gigabytes and it can be expanded to thirty-two gigabytes due to the micro SD card. Xiaomi Redmi 1S also has a camera of eight megapixels which has a rear autofocus and a flash. In order to make the photo taking experience more pleasant there is also a front facing camera which has 1.3 megapixels.
The phone also has Wi-Fi and hotspot functionality. There is also an FM radio. There are two connectivity options one for USB and the other for OTG. The phone is powered by a battery having 2400 mAh. The users will not have the impression of a carrying a stone around since the phone weighs 158 grams.
The phone will be available for the price of 6,999 Indian Rupees. Considering the price there are high chances for the phone to become extremely popular among Indian customers.
